The baroque style of its historic centre has been declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco.

Starting from the historic centre and going along the famous Via Etna you will be able to reach some of the most famous points of interest in the city.
From the Cathedral of Sant’Agata (which has the the third largest religious festival in the world) to the Ursino Castle up to the flower gardens of Villa Bellini and the characteristic local markets.
With its tree-lined avenues, its culinary traditions, the symbolic elephant and Mount Etna overlooking the city, Catania is one of the Sicilian cities par excellence.
Anyone who longs to get to know Sicily cannot help but visit Catania. Volcanic, lively, noisy and welcoming at the same time.
Catania has all the characteristics of a city in southern Italy, where a visitor is contextually confused but also at home.

Travelling along the Ionian coast we will reach the seaside village of Acicastello, characterized by the Norman Castle from which the town takes its name.
The fortification overlooks the sea and from its terraces you can enjoy a splendid view of Acitrezza and its stacks (faraglioni), famous for the myth of Ulysses and Cyclops.
This is also the land of Giovanni Verga's Malavoglia.
